Spring skiing brings benefits of longer days and skiing in the sunshine, but it’s all about what comes after. March and April aprés-ski offers cold beers after a hard day on the slopes with live music and the warm glow of the setting sun. From ice-shots in Courchevel to a skier’s nightclub in Meribel, here are Powder White’s top picks of the sunniest aprés-ski hot spots in the Alps.
La Folie Douce, Val d’Isere, France
Translated as ‘sweet madness’ and known as a skiers nightclub, La Folie Douce is a little paradise for snowsports enthusiasts, lovers of good food, mad music, and partying. Val d’Isere holds the original La Folie Douce, located in a perfect sunny position and known as the ‘highest club’ in Europe, while other locations include Alpe D’Huez, Val Thorens and new this season, Méribel. Live musicians, resident DJs and an open-air bar are just some of the highlights skiers can look forward to after a long day on the slopes. Lucky guests in the VIP area can even curl up on one of the giant cushions or pristine beds whilst sipping on a glass of champagne. For more information visit www.lafoliedouce.com
HOW? Powder White offers Chalet Appaloosa in Val d’Isere for just £449 per person – savings of £400 per person – based on 12 people sharing on a fully catered basis for the week commencing 29th March.
Le Rond Point, Meribel
Offering all day entertainment with ski-in/ski-out access and the wildest parties in Meribel, Le Rond Point is famous for its après-ski. As well as being known for the largest après-ski bar in France, the “Ronnie” also has an a la carte lunch menu to enjoy on the sun terrace overlooking the mountains. For those who want a quick fix, don’t miss a pizza at the downstairs snack bar and a shot of their famous toffee vodka. For more information visit www.rondpointmeribel.com

The Aprés Ski Bar, comes complete with a huge sliding roof ensuring the party continues whatever the weather. For those who don't make it back to the chalet for dinner, the Casbah Nightclub is legendary and open until a very unrespectable 4:00am. For more information visit www.hotelfarinet.com
