Silver Galapagos 

Leading cruise operator Silversea launched its new expedition ship Silver Galapagos on September 28. It will be the only luxury expedition ship offering socially and environmentally responsible ecotourism to the Galapagos archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Through complimentary expeditions, guided by an experienced expedition team (certified by the Galapagos National Park Service), Silversea guests will be able to experience close encounters with an abundance of wildlife including sun-basking land iguanas, giant tortoises, blue and red footed boobies, colourful marine iguanas and Darwin's famous finches.

Silver Discoverer

Silversea, the leading ultra-luxury cruise operator, is to launch their eighth ship, Silver Discoverer. The ship is due to sail to even more remote and stunning destinations throughout Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, Russian Far East, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand including one of the areas hidden treasures, the Kimberleys. This vast area in North West Australia is three times the size of England and three-fifths the size of Texas.

The Lanesborough will reopen in Spring 2015 after a major two year renovation project as one of the masterpiece properties of the Oetker Collection. Overlooking Hyde Park Corner, adjacent to the grounds of Buckingham Palace it is one of London’s most iconic hotels commanding a prestigious location that straddles both Knightsbridge and Mayfair. Comprising 93 rooms and suites as well as a spa and extensive dining options, the renovation by late interior designer Alberto Pinto, will embody the signature style that has become synonymous with The Lanesborough over its long history.  Guests can enjoy all day dining from breakfast to dinner at Apsleys, plus he hotel will also be serving its legendary Lanesborough Afternoon Tea. There is also the Withdrawing Room and the Library bar which houses the “Liquid History” - a collection of vintage cognacs, some of which are over 200 years old. Tucked away at the rear of the hotel, guests will find the Garden Room, the first and most luxurious cigar terrace in Knightsbridge and the best cigar lounge in London. The Lanesborough offers seven individually designed private dining rooms, the largest accommodating one hundred and eighty guests for a reception.

Nihiwatu is an intimate island retreat of 32 villas on 567 hectares and 2.5 kilometres of pristine beach on the little known and beautifully preserved Indonesian island of Sumba.  The island is located 250 miles southeast of Bali and although only a hour away by air, it remains undiscovered by mass tourism. It’s a magically pristine land of gorgeous beaches, tropical scenery and a fascinating tribal culture.  Owned and managed by friends Chris Burch and James McBride, Nihiwatu was born out of a vision to protect and preserve the unique culture of Sumba and empower the local communities to support themselves and their families through The Sumba Foundation.  The resort has been left almost entirely in its wild natural state - with only 10% of the land developed - apart from its rustically luxurious accommodation and public areas: comprising 32 private terraced villas, a bar and restaurant, a beachfront boathouse and a number of idyllic spa pavilions.  The stunning 2.5 kilometre beach is bracketed by two rocky headlands and fronts one of the world’s great surfing waves.
