For one weekend only, FC Barcelona fans will have a chance to participate in a virtual shoot out with Spain’s La Liga Champions and win prizes by “spotting the ball” via the airline’s new Facebook app at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush.
Saturday and Sunday, 9-10 November, Qatar Airways will welcome visitors and fans alike to Westfield’s North Atrium for a penalty shoot out against a virtual FC Barcelona goalkeeper. Visitors will also be able to participate in the ‘Spot the Ball’ Facebook App, based on the popular newspaper game, with entrants able to win two Economy Class flights anywhere within the Qatar Airways network from London Heathrow or Manchester Airports.
“Our experiential event at Westfield is intended to bring the world of Qatar Airways and FCB to life,” said Richard Oliver, Country Manager for Qatar Airways in UK and Ireland. “It was only natural that Qatar Airways as one of the World’s best airlines supported FC Barcelona, one of the world’s best football teams”
The interactive penalty shootout will be judged on both the speed and velocity of the kick which will be recorded on a leader board. Each day the player at the top of the leader board will be awarded an FC Barcelona football shirt whilst other prizes including footballs will be available to win throughout the day. Players will also be able to access scores and photos after taking part on Facebook to see if they achieved the fastest goal. Top scorers will have the opportunity to win prizes including Qatar Airways flights, an FC Barcelona shirt and mini co-branded footballs.
Fans can participate in the action on Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm.
The event at Westfield celebrates the partnership between Qatar Airways and FC Barcelona that was recently launched with the hugely popular Qatar Airways and FC Barcelona advert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkTsyll1SUo. The partnership runs for three years and includes shirt sponsorship, exclusive merchandise and match day packages.
