Kristiania, Lech, a family owned hotel with 29 rooms and home to a spectacular contemporary art collection, will exclusively partner with Strolz, the top fashion and sport stores in the Austrian resort, and the only hand-made ski boot workshop in the world. Launching this season, guests at Kristiania will be able to request a personalised, tailor-made shopping experience, with everything from the latest ski gear and designer wear, through to customised handmade boots available. Guests can shop online prior to their stay; the items will then be waiting in their room upon arrival at the hotel.

The personal shopping experience is complimentary when booking a suite at Kristiania, there’s no obligation to purchase, meaning several styles, sizes and colours can be ordered and sent back if need be. Once guests arrive in Lech, they will have access to Strolz and private opening hours can be arranged, a personal stylist will also be available throughout their stay. The partnership with Strolz is the latest in Kristiania’s collection of luxurious and personalised extras for its guests; which already include a Book Butler, a Ski Nanny and the Pooch Passport for pampered pets.

Strolz has been part of Lech for over 90 years, the six-floor store offers traditional Austrian brands including Habsburg, Gössl, Meindl and Stajan as well as bringing top designer names to the piste such as Bogner, Lasse Kjus and Moncler. But it’s the customised, completely handmade boots, worn by the rich, the famous, and Olympic champions that have cemented the Strolz name in skiing history.

In the 1920’s, shortly after the sport of skiing was invented in the Arlberg region, Ambros Strolz opened a boot-making workshop and began making ski boots out of leather for the few skiers who practised the sport at the time. His son Martin Strolz went on to win a silver medal in the downhill race wearing Strolz boots. From that moment on, the international ski elite – led by the Austrian team – became loyal to Stolz, who became the equipment provider for several international ski teams for over 25 years. Otmar Schneider, the founder of Kristiania, and Olympic gold medalist, also wore Strolz boots.

Guests at Kristiania will be able to take advantage of Strolz hand-made ski boots, with each boot designed to fit the foot perfectly. Guests are offered a personal foot analysis as part of a consultation with a trained orthopedic fitter. The inner boot and shell of the ski boot are then created based on a wood mold of the skier’s foot, ensuring the ultimate in comfort and performance. The whole process only takes a day to complete.

Owned and run by the Schneider family since 1968, Kristiania has always felt more like a private residence than a hotel. Each of the guestrooms and suites are unique, all decorated with individual artistic elements based around a particular piece of art. The rooms are modern and luxurious with incredible views of the mountains as well as complimentary minibars.

Double rooms at Kristiania start from €360 per night and €210 for a single on a B&B basis. This includes bottle of champagne in room, complimentary mini-bar, wifi and snow shuttle van.  Pre-ordering from Strolz will be available to guests as part of Kristiania’s pre check-in process.
