Tucked into the side of the cliff-face above the Cape’s famous Clifton beaches and overlooking the seemingly never-ending Atlantic Ocean, the five-storey property opened in November 2012 and is owned and run by the South African Latimer family. Consisting of seven suites it was designed by mother and daughter duo, Frith and Jessica, to create the personal feel of a private home coupled with the trappings of a luxury guesthouse.
The 556 square meter property comprises five luxury deluxe and junior suites, one two bedroom and one three bedroom suite all with with 180 degree panoramic sea views. There is a beautifully designed dining area for meals with an honesty bar and a huge deck which extends the width of the building boasting a 15 square meter swimming pool where visitors can take in the property’s unique views from luxurious sun loungers.
Design and décor echoes the majestic backdrop of the Cape’s coastline and is inspired by the neutral colour schemes found in the sand, sea and local fauna and flora. The property’s clean lines and stylish furnishings emulate the mother and daughter’s colonial heritage of Durban, into which they have added special details embracing their love of Africa in a subtle and elegant way.
